About Us

The first Henriette Johnson Medical CenterHenrietta Johnson Medical Center (HJMC) is part of a national network of federally funded Community Health Centers (CHCs) delivering quality, comprehensive health services to America's medically underserved communities. In an era of escalating health care costs, CHCs like HJMC have been recognized as cost effective and a necessary alternative to emergency room primary healthcare services.

HJMC is committed to a multi cultural approach in delivery of services. We are sensitive to the needs of all our client populations in the community. Providing quality health service, while helping patients to maintain their human dignity, is paramount to us.

HJMC offers health care convenience for the entire family in one place. The professional staff and physicians work together to address numerous categories of health problems found in the population we serve, such as:

  • Preventing diseases (through immunizations) for children and adults
  • Preventing illness by controlling risk factors (e.g., treating hypertension, encouraging smoking cessation)
  • Detecting diseases early to prevent morbidity or mortality (e.g.. breast cancer screenings and mammography, cervical cancer screenings and Pap smears)
  • Diagnosing and treating potentially life-threatening conditions (e.g., cardiac arrest and acute heart attack)
  • Diagnosing and treating ailments before they result in serious complications (e.g., fractures, ear infections)

Health education, outreach, and social services, essential to physical well-being and healthier lifestyles, are available to all Henrietta Johnson Medical Center patients.
